Five Year Strategic Plan for DeKalb Entertainment Commission
Over the last ten years, DeKalb Entertainment Commission has become a pivotal entity within the Georgia entertainment industry. From our well-established leading film permitting program for our county to our strategic partnerships that support initiatives within digital entertainment, film, and music., we’re excited about the continued growth of the entertainment economic power within our state.
With this growth, we are proud to announce our partnership with Sound Diplomacy to establish a 5 Year Entertainment Strategic Plan. Sound Diplomacy is the leading global consultancy advising cities, governments, tourism boards, and large organizations on music and nighttime economy policy. Their work has helped define the music cities movement and delivered initiatives in over 20 countries and 50 cities worldwide.
With their help, we will establish a Film, Music, and Digital Entertainment Strategic Plan that will identify growth areas, produce actionable strategies and implementation plans that will deliver measurable economic and social benefits.
What is the process to a new plan?
- Inception and Ideation:
Sound Diplomacy will help our team convene key stakeholders to determine and agree on critical objectives, timescales, deliverables, and outcomes. - Market, Cluster & Business Practice Analysis:
They will deliver an extensive market, cluster, and business practice analysis of policies, procedures, ordinances, and administrative practices in DeKalb County, both internal to DEC and across DeKalb County as a whole. This analysis will be comprised of all policies across business development, talent attractions and retention, education, community development and diversity, equity, and inclusion. - Stakeholder Engagement:
With their support, we will conduct extensive cross-sectoral engagement, including stakeholder interviews and roundtable discussions led by our local industry experts. This will include, first and foremost, working with our board members and our industry partners to maintain the collaborative approach. - SWOT Analysis and Comparative Analysis:
The content we receive through these robust discussions will be measured through a SWOT analysis approach to identify recommended changes, provide comparative analysis, and benchmark against five policies and practices selected by our team and board. - Five-Year Strategy and Implementation Plan:
All findings and plans will be presented in a report that will serve as the blueprint and Five-Year Strategy and Implementation Plan for DEC
