Milam Park

Parks and Recreation   |   Swimming Pool

Milam Park is the recreational heart of Clarkston, encompassing 16.5 acres of modern municipal facilities within a compact, production-friendly footprint. Following a comprehensive renovation beginning in 2012 and subsequent upgrades through 2021, the park presents a distinctly “new” and “clean” civic look, making it ideal for contemporary family storytelling, athletic sequences, and lifestyle-driven commercial work.

The park combines open, sunlit athletic areas with heavily shaded groves, offering multiple visual tones within one location. Its multi-use fields provide clear sightlines for soccer, baseball, softball, or general recreation scenes. Resurfaced tennis and pickleball courts feature high-contrast blue and green surfaces that read crisply on camera and add dynamic geometric lines to wide shots.

A defining visual element is “Pavilion Row,” six matching, refurbished covered pavilions with built-in grills. Their repetition creates a strong architectural rhythm that works especially well for community gatherings, park parties, church picnics, or festival scenes. The park also features a large, modern playground (installed in 2012) with wood-chip ground cover and ADA-compliant walking trails that wind through shaded hardwood areas—ideal for softer, family-oriented exteriors.

Additional amenities include a 24,000-square-foot fenced dog park with mature trees, offering a wooded look within a controlled perimeter.

Milam Park sits directly adjacent to the Milam Park Pool Club, allowing productions to seamlessly combine athletic fields, shaded pavilions, and aquatic recreation in a single unit move.

Often referred to as “the Ellis Island of the South,” the city is home to residents from more than 50 countries across six continents, with approximately half of its population foreign-born. An active railroad line still runs through Clarkston, reinforcing themes of arrival, movement, and connection—past and present.
